Let’s get to know one another!

In a nutshell, I consider myself an adventurer and a Weeble who wobbles but never falls down!

I have three beautiful children, a wonderful husband, and I’ve lived a life full of trials, tribulations, and triumphs.

Family

I grew up in a family with four children and two loving, brilliant, and driven parents. After completing university, I got married and had three children.

Years later, I entered a new chapter of life as I went through a divorce and began to raise my three beautiful children as a single parent. My kids were always active in hockey, football, track, and field hockey throughout their school years. They’ve since grown into wonderful young adults, each navigating their own way in the world.

I recently married the love of my life and I’m grateful every day that every situation has led me to be in the right place at the right time.

In a recent turn of events my wonderful mother has experienced the onset of dementia. She requires an increased level of care, but it has made our relationship stronger and more honest than ever.

Career

I’ve enjoyed a career that has allowed for many interesting opportunities for growth.

Following years as an athlete, I became a professional figure skating coach which led me to a position that changed my life. In 1990, I took on a volunteer role as head figure skating coach with Special Olympics Alberta and I’ve never looked back.

I’ve been involved in numerous roles within the organization, most recently as one of Canada’s Master Coach Developers and member of the National Coach Strategic Committee, as well as Team Alberta’s Chef de’Mission.

Aside from volunteer work, I’ve enjoyed a career in sport and corporate event management.

Supporting youth sports and athletic development has always been my primary focus.

Education

In the same way my career has been ever-evolving, so has my education.

I began my post-graduate career with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.

From here, I moved on to various National Coaching Certificates, including: Multi-sport Theory; Level 1, 2, 3. Figure Skating; Level 1, 2. Athletics; Level 1. Hockey Canada Coach, Level 1. Special Olympics Canada; Level 1, 2, Master Learning Facilitator, Master Coach Developer.

Most recently, I’ve obtained my Erickson Coaching International Diploma - ICF Certified Coach Training and I’m so excited to embark on this new journey!

I look forward to working with clients in the same way I’ve done with athletes over the years. I’m focused on providing positive direction to your actions.

Now that you know a little bit about me, I’d love to get to know you!
